Background

First impressions of Khan Lynn McKenna are invariably misleading. Short and slight, with mousy hair and a nondescript round face, Lynn McKenna rarely impresses those who meet her for the first time. Other people tend to underestimate her abilities. The cunning she displays in the Clan Council testifies to the fifty-two years of physical and political fighting she has endured.

Warders at the McKenna NTF regarded McKenna as the "runt of the litter," and encouraged her sibmates to make her life difficult. Rather than breaking her, these actions drove McKenna onward. Hatred of the abuse to which she was subjected prompted her to exceed the performance of her stronger brethren. She soon negated her physical shortcomings by developing the ability to manipulate her peers into doing what she wanted. In a Clan full of politicians, McKenna's swift ascencion to the highest post in the Clan - which she has held for seventeen years - attests to her accumen.
